Artisan was professional, reliable, highly skilled, orderly and transparent with all the associated costs for our project. They did an amazing job at restoring our 120 year old oak parquet flooring in our living room. The wood & grain cuts were matched perfectly and all the restoration work, including repair of the damaged areas was excellent. Artisan provided us with a breakdown of all the costs and very accurate billing of “actual” hours worked. They were on time and all communications were prompt and professionally handled. Hard to find contractors who work like this. In summary, we are very satisfied with the work performed and look forward to contracting Artisan in the future for our dining room and hallways. As a plus & BIG thanks- they were very mindful with our cats, who like to inspect and run through open doors. Truly a pleasure to work with.

Steve recently completed water damage repairs to a section of our engineered wood flooring. He came across as a real pro. His experience, artistic sensibility, craftsmanship and attention to detail were all evident throughout the process. Further, he carefully constructed a plastic poly sheeting enclosure around the work area to both control dust and alleviate any Covid exposure concerns. We’re exceptionally pleased with the quality of the finished product and would highly recommend Steve’s services to others.

I had a great experience with Steve Albert at Artisan Hardwood Flooring installing 1800 sq ft of hardwood into a condo I had just bought. I didn’t know anything about hardwood floors. I asked Steve to give me a list of a few vendors, I picked one based on reviews. He met me at the showroom and he helped narrow down choices based on price, aesthetics and installation factors that I wouldn’t know anything about. Then the fun began. The project was delayed since the material was a few weeks late arriving. This caused some conflicts with other work I was having done, but Steve was very flexible. Also, since the condo is on a high floor of a large building there was constant contention for the freight elevator. Steve basically swung with the punches all the way though the project. The end result is great; he was attentive to the schedule all the way through; charged me almost exactly what he had estimated up front even though there were some changes in the middle; and he’s been responsive on a couple very small issues after the project was done. I’d highly recommend Artisan Hardwood Floors for a floor project.

Steve has worked on two projects for me- one several years ago (refinishing a row house pine subfloor) and then just recently (new floors)– both turned out beautifully. For the refinishing job he was able to deal with poor/very challenging conditions in some areas of the floor with amazing results. Highly recommended!

Steve Albert and his team refinished the floors in the dining room, living room, and stairs, and installed new wood floors on the 2nd and 3rd floors of my circa 1890’s home. Steve’s advice on what wood to select for the new floors was invaluable. He provided clear information on the options. He communicated well on the progress and any issues encountered during the project and how they were being addressed. From the estimate through project completion, he was thorough. This was especially important, as I was on the west coast while the work was being done.

The resulting floors are beautiful. Steve and his team, are truly artisans.
